As many of you know, Christmas starts in June for many papercrafters, so Crafter's Companion are starting to feel a little festive, launching the first of a new range, with artwork designed by artist Ian Hallows. The ‘Christmas in Mulberry Wood’ range (including six stamps, co-ordinating CD-ROM and two papercrafting collections by Hunkydory) will be Pick of the Week on Create & Craft from Midday on Friday!

To celebrate the launch, Crafter's Companion have organised a Blog Hop around some of the Design Team's blogs! If you have landed here from Beth's blog then you are hopping in the right direction. If not then you need to pop over to the Crafter’s Companion News blog to begin.

Everyone on the Design Team had so much fun creating with this new range from Crafter’s Companion and to celebrate the launch of these stunning new collections on Friday 29th June you have the chance to win the brand new 'Christmas in Mulberry Wood' CD-ROM.

All you need to do to be in with a chance of winning this great prize is visit each blog in order and then go back to the Crafter’s Companion News Views and Inspiration Blog to leave a comment about the range and the sneak peeks you’ve seen. On Friday June 29th, Crafter's Companion will pick two comments at random, to win the prize.

Tutorial Double Fold Pop Out Card - A-May-Zing Christmas

Hi, I posted this card a few weeks ago and I thought I would share the tutorial with you as I have used the new A-May-Zing Christmas CD from the lovely Nigel May, and I am so proud to be part of his design team. So here goes :

Items used:

5 A4 sheets of Centura Pear Card
Nigel Mays Amaz-zing Christmas CD
pencil and ruler
craft knife and cutting mat
Bone Folder
Collal Glue
2 sheets of 3d toppers
5 sheets of backing paper
1 A4 insert with verse
4 sheets of A4 mirri board
spellbinders dies
martha stewart punch
gems from my crafting stash
about half a metre of thin ribbon
1 sheet of printed borders
2 sheets of image toppers

1. Print your choosen design onto your 2 sheets of Centura Pearl card and trim to 27.5cm x 20cm. Now fold this is half and then fold each section in half again and burnish all folds. Turn your card over so that the printed side is facing down and in the two centre panels starting at the top measure and place a small mark at the following intervals, 1", ½" , 1", ½" , 1", ½", 1" , ½" and 1". Now using your craft knife and cutting matt, cut these lines on the two centre panels only. Now starting at the top fold your first panel using a valley fold, the next fold using a mountain fold and carry on in this manner into all panels have been folded. Burnish all your folds.

2. Take two pieces of your white Centura Pearl card and trim to measure 27.5cm x 20cm. Now fold in half and then fold one section in half again. Now trim off one of the small panels and fold and burnish along the half fold line. Do exactly the same with your second piece of card. Now taking one of these pieces of card and one of your pieces of card with the cut out panels ,place the two smaller panels side by side, you will see I have marked these A & B. Now place the B panel over the A panel and stick together using a wet glue, as this makes it easier to get in the right place. Do the same with your second two pieces of card and let to dry.

3. Now turn both these pieces over so that the pattern side is facing down and butt the cut out panels together, join these with strips of double sided tape to keep in place. Cut two pieces of white Centura Pearl card 5.5" x 7⅞", now glue one of these over the two panels you have just butted together , this will hide the join and do the same of the reverse side. BEFORE YOU GLUE THESE INTO PLACE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR CARD WILL FOLD, BECAUSE IF THEY ARE SLIGHTLY TOO WIDE IT WILL NOT ALLOW THE CARD TO CLOSE PROPERLY.

4. The next step is to make up the front two front panels, I have made both mine the same but that is just personal choice. Glue these onto your two front panels.

5. Now to work on the inside. For the two smaller panels inside use two of the borders from the CD and matt and layer these onto some mirri board.

6. To decorate the larger two panels on the inside, mat and layer your baking paper onto some mirri card and place a gem into each corner. Print out a sheet of image toppers and chose A5 size. I used a larger topper and two smaller ones mat and layered again onto mirri board. Now make another one of these and glue these onto the inside panels of your card.

7. Now chose your insert and verse for the card and print this as A4 size. Trim to fit the centre of your card and glue into place.

I hope that you enjoy making this card as much as I did, but if you have any questions please just ask.

Thanks for looking xxx

A3 card stock 1 sheet White
SVG file from SVGattic.com Me Mine - Love Card
A4 card - Centura Pearl Pastels from Crafters Companion
Satin Finish Paper from Crafters Companion
A4 Printable White card 1 sheet from Crafters Companion
12 x 12 yellow Core'dinations card bright (yellow)
Swalk Two CD from Crafters Companion
Brown Candi dots from Craftwork Cards x 4
Fundamentals 2
Glue
Quickie Glue Pen
Glitter
Foam Pads
Tim Holtz Distress Ink Mustard Seed

PLEASE NOTE TO SEE THE SCREEN IMAGES BETTER JUST CLICK ONTO IT TO ENLARGE.
Once you have opened your ecraftshop Pro software as we are going to can the size of our mat you will need to open a New Project and alter the size of the mat to 12 " by 24 ".

Bring onto your mat the SVG file Be Mine - Love Card. Leaving your aspect ratio button off turn your card around and alter the size to 7.18" wide by 14" high. Cut out and glitter the edges.

Taking a new mat cut out a square for your first mat using the shapes on the toolbar on the left hand side and layer High 6.12" x 6.30" wide. For this I used pale lemon from the Centura Pearl pastels collection from Crafters Companion.

Taking your chosen paper cut your next square High 5.87" x 6.05 wide. The paper I used is printed from the SWALK 2 CD from Crafters Companion, Co-ordinates 1 design 10 colour 5. I distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Mustard Seed. Mat this onto your pale lemon square. Now glue these onto your card base.

Using the same White card as used for the base, I cut out 4 scalloped squares again from the Be Mine SVG Love Card Panel One. For some reason this appears to be wider than required but if you use the sizes stated here everything will mat and layer, however if you use your own scalloped square you will need to half the dimensions for all your squares by half width wise. Alter the Panel One SVG file to 5.00" wide to 2.50" high and cut out 4 of these. Again using your Quickie glue pen glitter the edges.

Now from the pale lemon Centura Pearl card cut out 4 scalloped squares 4.50" wide by 2.25" high. Using foam pads stick these onto your white scalloped squares.

Using your printed paper cut out another 4 scalloped squares this time 4.25" wide by 2.00" high. Again distress edges with Tim Holtz distressing ink Mustard Seed. Now mat this onto pale lemon Centura Pearl scalloped squares.

Taking your yellow Core'dinations card cut out four flowers using your Fundamentals 2 SD card  from the flower tops section image 5 Poinsettia background 1.97" wide by 2.00" high. Print onto your white printable card, again I used the same backing paper as before and cut out another four flowers. Gently distress the edge of the petals of the flowers cut from Core'dinations and using your quickie glue pen glitter the petals of the flowers cut from your light printable card, shape the petals and layer these together and put a brown Candi dot in the centre.

Taking your layered flowers glue them onto the four small layered squares and attach to your base card.

To make your centre greeting out of your plain white card cut a scalloped square 4.50" wide by 2.25" high.

Your next scalloped square is cut from the pale lemon Centura Pearl card 4.25" wide by 2.25" high.
Your last scalloped square needs to have the greeting added, I cut this from my printed backing paper. Change the size of your scalloped square to 4.00" wide by 1.75" high. Click onto your mat and on the left hand side tool bar click onto the text button, I used the Monotype Corsiva font type the word Happy and change the size to 1.10" wide by 0.63" high, now click onto the draw button on the top toolbar and your text will change to purple, move this into your scalloped square. Now do the same and type the word Birthday, alter the size to 1.20" wide by 0.83" high, again click onto the draw button to turn the word purple and move this into the scalloped square. Click onto the cut button on your top toolbar and send to your Ecraft machine.

Gliiter the edges of your white scalloped square and distress the edges of your scalloped square cut from the backing paper and mat and layer these the same as before.

Attach these four scalloped decorated squares to your mat and layered card base.

Place foam pads onto the back of your layered greeting and place in the middle on the card.

Thank you for popping over to my blog, hope you enjoy making this as much as I did
