Yes you did read right I have made my first birthday card for 2012, although I have not even started my Christmas cards for this year, but this was so cute that I thought I would share it with you. I made the base from some A2 white card that I had in my stash together with some papers also from my stash, thought I would try and use something up as the pile just keeps growing !!!! This is for my niece Kate who just loves to craft and I always spend a day with her in the school holidays and always have fun.

Spectrum Noir Pens - Only One More Sleep to Go !!!!
Well this is what everyone has been waiting for the new Spectrum Noir pens from Crafters Companion. These pens are alcohol based markers that been designed with crafters in mind.
Watch this video from Leann to find out more
Each pen is double-ended, with a broad chisel nib for large area fills and a fine bullet tip for detailed work. These pens come at the fabulous price of just £6.99 for six pens, they come in colour themed sets so you won't struggle to work out which pens of the same colour will blend nicely. Each of the six pen sets come with three cool tones and three warm tones, so you'll always be able to find the colours you need!
There are 168 colours available in total, providing a true 'spectrum'. The ink is fast drying too, so you'll not smudge your work when blending!
These pens were the talk of the Doncaster show at the weekend and as from tomorrow they will be available to purchase from Crafters Companion. So keep your eye out on their web site as over the coming days as they will be showing you some step by step colouring tutorials and samples of how to use these gorgeous pens.

Hangbag card - This one's for Wendy
To make this I used:
Popcorn Pals CD's one and two from Crafters Companion
Spellbinders dies
Flowers and brads from my stash
Martha Stewart punch for the hearts
4 Joy crafts die for the flowers.
Boxer board and Ultimate Pro from Crafters Companion for your scoring
Plenty of Glue
Piece if Core'dinations 12 x 12 cardstock
Small Velcro fastener
You will need to score your piece of 12 x 12 Core'dinations cardstock every 4" both ways this will give you a set of 9 squares, I have used my Ultimate Pro and Boxer Board for this. The four corner squares need to be scored diagonally across the square from the outer corner to the inner corner. On the two outside middle panels mark the centre point and score to the inner corners of the square. I have taken some photos to show you how I have scored the card which hopefully will make the instruction make more sense. All your score lines need to be folded and scored well with your bone folder and every fold needs to be a valley fold. For the handles I have used a strip of 1" card and secured with a brad and glue and the fastening strap is 0.75" wide again secured with a brad and glue and a Velcro fastener.

Popcorn Pals Sneak Peak
Well tomorrow is the day that you can get your hands on Popcorn Pals and wow you won't be disappointed I think this is one of the best ranges that Crafters Companion have done. This launch is especially for you guys, the Crafter's Companion members - it's not going to be telly just yet as we wanted to keep it special for you! The range consists of a twinset CD-ROM and four stamp sets. The CD-ROM will normally retail for £29.99 and the stamps for £5.99 each...but in typical Crafter's Companion style, they are offering you a fantastic launch special so keep your eyes on their website !!!!
Anyway here is my posting for today, I used both the stamps and the CD's to make this, I wanted to make it a gift as well as a card. I thought that this would be idea for a childs first birthday, as the blocks hold all the letters of the alphabet and also number 0 to 9. I used both my cricut and ecraft to make this, together with spellbinders

Using up my Scraps
Morning all well another fantastic sunny day here, have been up since about 6 this morning, seems such a waste to be in bed when the sun is shining. Today I thought that I would share with you a card that I made from my scraps of Tim Holtz Core'dinations card from Crafters Companion. I must admit I did get this idea from an old magazine and just altered it to my own design. This is great to use up your odd scraps of card, and I used my Darice embossing folders again from Crafters Companion and sanded then with a sanding block, this makes the embossing just pop of the page.

Tim Holtz Core'dinations
Wow I hope that you have been watching the POW on Create and Craft, they are showing the new range of cardstock from Tim Holtz and I have been lucky enough to have been able to play with it, as the lovely Sara from Crafters Companion sent me some cardstock and embossing folders, and boy did I have some fun. This is the first time I have ever done this style of card I must admit I normally do pastel colours and pretty flowers. So I thought that as I had not been posting for a while, today I would show you two items that I have made using the cardstock and Darico Embossing folders both from Crafters Companion
.
